Petra Connor is working Hollywood Homicide without a partner, investigating a shooting outside a club which killed four youngsters. With no suspects, no motive and one unidentified victim, she doesn't appear to be getting anywhere.
Then Isaac, an intern doing research in her department, stumbles on a series of unsolved murders that only have the method of killing and the murder date in common. After initial scepticism, Petra has to admit that they are probably looking at a serial killer, and the killing date, June 28, is only a few weeks away.
I wasn't overly impressed with the story; the main characters indulged in a bit too much navel gazing for my liking, but it wasn't a bad mystery and easy enough to listen to. If I had read the book rather then listened to it I would probably have skimmed over the parts that now ended up irritating me.
