Adam Strickland is a young scholar getting through college doing as little as he can get away with when he's offered the opportunity to travel to Tuscany to investigate the secrets hiding in a garden.
Shortly after arriving, Adam finds himself entranced by the Docci family, their house and the mysterious garden.
Before long he realises that in investigating the garden, he is really investigating two murders. Murders that took place 400 years apart but still have their hold over the garden and those who own it.
This was a wonderfully intriguing read, with the mystery not only being who committed the murders, but also who, or what is fuelling Adam's determination to solve them.
