HOTEL LAS FLORES

All the people in this book travelling from Ireland to Hotel Las Flores on Tenerife have a reason to leave their everyday life behind and escape their problems.
But of course, life is never that easy, and our characters soon discover that running away doesn't mean problems disappear. They stay the same, only in new surroundings.
However, being around new people can lead to a new perspective on things, and new opportunities for those who were tempted to just give up.
Like I said in an earlier review, this author is very much in the Meave Binchy school of writing, and isn't quite as good as the queen of Irish Novels. Her characters, especially in this, her first book, seem to lack a few dimensions. And the way people just changed their lives or got hooked up for life after knowing each other for only two weeks was a bit unbelievable. However, this was a very pleasant, fun and fast read, and I know I will continue to read McCabe's books, if only for the relaxation they bring.
