Robert Amiss is still working for the civil service when he's send on a temporary placement. As he moves from Whitehall to a suburban office, he also substitutes grand scale bureaucracy for back office politics. His new place of employment is the end station for those with nowhere to go in their careers; an office filled with pettiness and practical jokes.
But then, on Valentine's day, it all takes a turn for the worse when poisoned chocolates claim several victims and Robert finds himself in the middle of another murder investigation lead by James Milton.
Another good mystery and hilarious look at bureaucracy at it's worst.
I had the murderer picked about half way through, although I'm not sure on what grounds, and it didn't lessen my listening pleasure.
