After having lived in Britain for almost 20 years, Bill Bryson decided to move his family to the USA for a while. Before leaving his adopted home, he travelled the lenght and breadth of Britain, and this book is the story of that journey.
It's a fun, at times laugh out loud, tears running down my cheeks, portrait of Great Britain and all its idiosyncrasies. Ultimately though it has to be described as a declaration of love.
Roberts, the narrator, had me spellbound.
