TITLE: IN THE WOODS
AUTHOR: TANA FRENCH
When he was twelve, Adam Ryan went into the woods behind his housing estate with his friends. When he was found by a search party he was alone, with blood in his shoes and no memory of what had happened. His friends were never found.
Now twenty years later he goes by the name Rob Ryan, and work's in Dublin's murder squad. Rob, and his partner, Cassie, catch the case of a twelve year old girl from the same estate, who is found murdered and left close to the same woods.
Rob should refuse to work on the case because of a possible link with his past, but he doesn't.
As the case unfolds, Ryan slowly unravels as he becomes obsessed with both the present and the past case and puts both his job and his personal relationships at risk.
Well written story, but not a book for anyone who likes their mysteries neatly solved and all questions answered.
